This information is for NEW MEMBERS ONLY who have not been previously
Finger Printed by any School Board Police Department in Florida. If you
Have Not previously been Finger Printed, you MUST have this done Before
you will be allowed to Referee in Any Public or Private Schools in Florida.
All officials who HAVE BEEN Finger Printed by a School Board Police
Department in Florida will need to have their status Updated by paying a $6.00
fee for this service. ECVOA will collect this fee from all Officials
who have previously been Finger Printed, and pay the Palm Beach Co. School
Board Police on your behalf.
The Florida
Legislature pasted a law earlier this summer that basically requires any
person that has contact with children in the Public Schools of Florida to be
Finger Printed and checked for a criminal record. You can check many
sources if you would like detailed information on the law.
Because of this Law,
all FHSAA Registered Officials MUST go through this process Before
they can Officiate Any Sport in the State of Florida.
This Is What We All
Have To Do: Only the Palm Beach Co. School Police or any other School Board
Police, (Broward, Martin Co., etc.) in the State MAY administer the
Printing. No other Police agencies may do the Finger Printing and
Background checks.
Next, to get the
Finger Printing done you must have a MONEY ORDER for $47.00. No checks or cash
will be acceptable. You can get a money order at any Publix, 7-11 stores,
Wall Mart, etc. for about $1.00 or less. You will fill out the
questionnaire, present the money order to the officer have your picture
taken and then be Finger Printed by scanning your fingers on a computer.
The entire procedure will take about 10 minutes.
